Jason Kurtz - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Jason Kurtz has worked with Accel-KKR since 2013 when he joined to launch the Accel-KKR Consulting Group. Prior to joining Accel-KKR, Jason worked at Ariba, Inc. (acquired by SAP in 2012) for eleven years in a variety of executive roles and served as a member of the company’s Management Committee. Previously, Jason was a Director in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting practice, where he focused on helping companies create profitable, revenue growth. Jason also worked at ESPN, as an Associate Producer.
Jason currently serves on the Board of Directors of iSolved, Unimarket, Estela, and Basware.
Jason received his M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Management at the University of Virginia in Marketing and Finance. He received a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Perttu Nihti - Chief Product Officer (CPO)
A highly analytical and detail-oriented product strategist, Perttu directs the Basware product portfolio with a customer-oriented approach. Leading his department in an entrepreneurial fashion, he encourages his team to look beyond the obvious and creatively evaluate all technology options, always pushing for the most innovative, customer-focused solution.
Perttu joined Basware in 2012 and has advanced rapidly with various product and strategy leadership positions; he became an Executive team member in 2020.
Prior to Basware, he held positions in research, development, product management and consultancy, including Manager at August Associates and Head of Strategy/Operations at Nokia MeeGo Computers.

Lars Madsen - Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Lars is a seasoned leader in the fields of international marketing, strategy and business development. An expert digital strategist, he has led several large organisations through complex digital transformations.
Lars joined Basware and the Executive Team in 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, his passion for architecting digital programmes, improving the customer experience and crystalizing brand positioning continues to be integral to guiding the global marketing team and supporting sales funnel creation.
Spending the bulk of his career at Canon, he held several roles focused on developing successful marketing strategies in the imaging industry. He was Marketing Director, UK & Ireland prior to joining Basware.
Jane Broberg - Chief HR Officer (CHRO)
Jane has a commercial background working for multiple large blue chip organisations. Since 2005 Jane has dedicated her career to human resources (HR) working in global roles where she is well versed in strategy, leadership, leading complex change programs, M&A, corporate communication and leading the people agenda across diverse countries and cultures.
She has served in many Senior HR positions at Basware since 2010, joining the Basware Executive Team in 2019. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Jane provides inspirational leadership to the global HR admin team and as an integral part of the executive teams provides commercial, transformative HR solutions to the group. Under her leadership, Basware has garnered several awards for its best-in-class, team-focused workplace and culture.
Prior to Basware, Jane held multiple roles in IT Consulting services and human resources working for matrixed international organisations, including BP, ExxonMobil, IBM and SAP.
Martti Nurminen - Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
With nearly 20 years in the finance field, Martti is a proven CFO committed to the business and his team. Laser-focused on delivering value to all stakeholders, he strikes the right balance of business insight and interpersonal skills.
Martti joined Basware and the Executive Team in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer.
Previously, he served as CFO in Nordic, publicly listed IT services and software companies, Solteq and Affecto. Prior to these CFO roles, he spent more than a decade in various finance leadership positions at IBM and Johnson Controls.

Mogens Pedersen - Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Mogens has a passion for putting best-in-class software and services into the hands of customers, leveraging technology as a means to an end. As Chief Technology Officer, he oversees the Basware R&D and production departments where he inspires hundreds of highly skilled professionals around the world.
He joined Basware and the Executive Team in September 2020 from SimCorp, a provider of integrated investment management solutions, where he worked in multiple senior leadership roles for more than 25 years. His latest role was Head of the Cloud Centre of Excellence at SimCorp Denmark.

Steve Canning - Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
Steve joined the company in January 2023. He is responsible for growing revenues across the business, driving partnerships with leading consultancies and coaching sales leaders. Steve is a veteran of technology sales, who is passionate about developing people, helping them to grow their skills, mentoring them throughout their careers and leading by example.
Before joining the company, Steve was the CRO at Reapit, a company within the Accel-KKR portfolio like Basware, and who market technology solutions to the estate agency business. Steve was also VP of Sales at GEP, who provide transformative supply chain solutions, and VP of Sales at iPipeline, a leader of solutions and services for the pensions market. Earlier in his career, Steve was a senior leader in spend management solutions, initially at Procuri, who were acquired by Ariba in 2007, and then acquired again by SAP in 2012.
Steve lives on a farm in Norfolk with his wife of 43 years, 2 grown-up children and 5 dogs. He is a voracious reader, avid cinemagoer, and passionate music-fan.
Matthias Lippert - Chief Customer Support Officer (CCSO)
Matthias has been Vice President Customer Services at Basware since January 2017 and heads a support organisation with more than 200 employees in 10 countries. His goal is to increase customer satisfaction by processing support requests quickly and providing competent assistance in the event of a crisis.
Matthias started his Basware career in 2007 as a programme manager for international projects. In 2012, he was appointed Vice President and Head of Professional Services Europe, and in 2013 he also became Managing Director of the German entity, Basware GmbH. The expansion of new business areas and the promotion of the cloud and partner business were among his tasks. Before joining Basware Matthias spent 10 years within the technology and software industry working for Cambridge Technology Partners and Novell.
Mikko Lampi - Chief Professional Services Officer (CPSO)
Mikko joined Basware in 2017. During the four-year tenure Mikko has undertaken roles of Vice President, Professional Services, Nordic Region and most recently as the Global Vice President for Professional Services.
Prior to joining Basware Mikko gained more than 20 years of experience within the computer software and services industry. Working with Innofactor Plc in Finland for 14 years Mikko held various leadership positions including Chief Technology Officer, VP Operations and VP Customer Solutions.
Mark Johnston - Chief Customer Success Officer (CCSO)
Mark Johnston joined Basware in 2023 following a career of leading customer-facing teams at data analytics and digital transformation firms. He is responsible for leading the Customer Success team, which provides an ongoing holistic view of customer objectives by expanding and realizing the potential of Basware products and solutions.
Previously, Mark was Vice President of Customer Value and Professional Services, North America for Celonis and Global Head of Customer Success at Infogix.
Mark Johnston holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University and a JD Law Degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Barrett Schiwitz - Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Barrett Schiwitz joined Basware in 2024 to oversee its internal digital transformation. He brings over 30 years’ experience working with technology companies in a variety of roles including as a software developer, IT executive, and transformation leader.
Barrett leads Basware's digital transformation to allow team members to better service customers with efficient processes, modern systems, and quality data. He has a passion for helping organizations scale while improving efficiency and service delivery.
He most recently worked at Snap One and helped the company integrate numerous acquisitions while quadrupling in size. Previously, he spent the majority of his career at Radiant Systems where he was able to work in both customer facing and internal roles where he gained experience in all aspects of enterprise processes and systems. Barrett has also worked at Travelport, NCR, Servigistics, and Arthur Andersen. Barrett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Florida Southern College.
