Basware receives the Mercurius of the Year Award
Basware, the leading provider of purchase-to-pay solutions has been awarded the Mercurius of the Year Award in the business-to-business category. The Mercurius of the Year Award is the foremost reward for Finnish sales expertise and it was now handed out for the seventh time.
According to the Mercurius Jury1, Basware stood out from its competitors with its outstanding ability to maintain sales spirit and drive. Additionally, the company has successfully exported Finnish knowhow abroad. Basware has managed to yield profitable results during its 25 years of operation and in 2009, the company set a new record in profitability and turnover. With the leadership of CEO Ilkka Sihvo and Chairman of the Board Hannu Vaajoensuu, the company has successfully developed solutions for automating financial processes. Further, Basware’s operations emphasize thorough knowledge of the customer’s needs which enables the company to provide best possible solutions for its customers.

Basware was founded in 1985 and it is celebrating its 25th business anniversary this year. Basware’s solutions have more than a million users internationally. In the fall of 2009, Basware signed one of its largest deals in Australia and was the first in the world to develop a new business concept which changes the handling of paper invoices in a customer organization to a completely electronic process.
