The hot topics at the 2012 UK, Germany and Benelux Basware User Forums

Fresh from the recent series of User Forum events in the UK, Germany and the Benelux our ‘people on the ground’ provide their views on the hot topics discussed:

 

Mercè Cozens, Demand Generation Manager, Basware UK:
The recent User Forum in London provided the ideal backdrop to start negotiating the business challenges that our customers are facing moving towards 2013. As always, it provided a great opportunity to swap ideas, discuss best practice and understand how Basware’s solutions are helping to meet business aims.

 

One of the common themes in London centred on supporting business expansion. The general consensus was that, by embracing standardised financial automation and e-invoicing systems, businesses (especially those looking to move to shared services, consolidating finance resource, or considering mergers and acquisitions) achieve these goals in an easier, faster and more cost-effective way. It was pleasing to see that, thanks in some part to our efforts to template best practice processes within our solutions; we have helped a large number of businesses to meet these goals.

 

Our launch of Alusta in February has made process standardisation and optimisation become even easier by streamlining purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes via the scalable, secure, open collaborative commerce ecosystem we call the B2B Cloud – the impact of which was explored throughout the event.

 

Regina Kloo, Marketing Manager, Basware GmbH:
80 customers and partners signed up for our German User Forum – in the famous Allianz Arena, the home of Bayern Munich FC – including the likes of Daimler AG. It was great to catch up and speak with Richard Erzberger, Shared Services Purchase Accounting division, Daimler AG who gave a great presentation on how the team at Daimler has successfully used Basware’s solutions to rapidly integrate a significant portion of their supply base into their e-invoicing program.

 

Again, Alusta and the B2B Cloud led the agenda with best practice guides and live demonstrations, and in-depth discussions on how it can enable true globally networked commerce – a key theme for a more agile and accountable finance function in 2013.

 

Thijs van Bemmelen, Marketing Manager, Benelux, Basware BV:
The Benelux user event hosted an impressive 77 attendees from over 40 different companies, with titles ranging from the Head of Accounts Payable, Finance Managers, Procurement Managers and IT Managers. It really goes to show the level and breadth of benefits that well-integrated purchase-to-pay and e-invoicing solutions can provide across the business.

 

Once again discussions centered on the move to the cloud, which has been made possible by the launch of Alusta. Companies such as ANWB, FrielandCampina, Boskalis, Ballast Nedam and Stork shared the type of practical insights from their finance transformation programs that their peers could immediately learn from. It’s really pleasing to see how the hard work and focus we and our customers have made is paying dividends, and there was a real sense of enthusiasm following the announcement of Basware’s acquisition of network and e-invoicing provider Certipost in Benelux.

 

In addition to the UK, German and Benelux conferences, Basware Experience 2012 User Forums were held in Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Australia and the US.
