‘Achievement’ is theme for 2015
Espoo, Finland, 12 January, 2015 – The Art of Basware launches into its 16th year, encouraging young artists from around the globe to submit art work into the competition. The annual art initiative is sponsored by Basware, the leading provider of e-invoicing and purchase-to-pay solutions.

“Last year nearly 200 artists with over 450 pieces of art, ranging from traditional and mixed media to sculpture, submitted entries to the competition. This year’s theme of ‘Achievement’ represents one of Basware’s core values. As the initiative grows year on year, the competition provides a platform for international young artists to show their creative ‘achievement’ to us – and the world.”
Submission to the competition is free and entries must be received by 27 March 2015. Artists under 30 years of age can submit images of up to three entries – in any material or medium – to be in with the chance to win a grand prize of €5,000. The entries will be reviewed by an expert panel and the winner will be announced on 15 April 2015 at an event in Helsinki, Finland. The winning artwork will form part of Basware’s extensive art collection.
The crowned piece will be exhibited at the Helsinki Music Centre alongside the shortlisted entries, in a show that is open to the public from 16 April – 14 May 2015.
Last year’s winner was Toni R. Toivonen, whose piece “Something must break” embodied the theme of ‘Growth’ through the physical transformation of an old painting by collage.
