BasWare to partner with e-invoicing operator crossgate
Partnership allows complete electronic data exchange between companies
Espoo, 20. November 2007 – BasWare Einvoices expands its partner network in Europe by connecting to crossgate, a specialist for B2B-Integration and Cross Automation. Over 74 000 companies can be reached through the new inter-operator connection.
The demand for international data exchange is increasing steadily.Today, almost 50% of the overall business transactions (orders, invoicing) are international and the amount continues to increase. Thanks to the cooperation with crossgate, BasWare’s customers can benefit from all the existing business partner connections of both of the companies. BasWare and crossgate reduce the technical complexity of e-invoicing and as service providers handle the in and outgoing data transfers for its customers. This offers customers a safe way to transfer electronic data without any technical or legal hurdles. The network gives access to approximately 74 000 businesses in Northern and Central Europe.
”The customers will be the ones who really benefit from the collaboration of two international specialists. They can rely on the competent handling of their electronic data transfers across borders,” explains Juha Häkämies, Senior Vice President at BasWare.
Through the cooperation, the network gains a strong position in Europe by combining BasWare’s connections in Northern Europe with crossgate’s Central European ones. This benefits BasWare customers especially in Central Europe. Receiving e-invoices to an electronic invoice processing system allows for more enhanced process automation by enabling e.g. automatic postings between the e-invoicing and invoice processing systems. Through the new inter-operator agreement, BasWare customers are able to receive business documents through crossgate in addition to other roaming partners of BasWare.
Both BasWare and crossgate also work actively to promote electronic invoicing in the EU. The European Commission has initiated the Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN) Workshop on Electronic Invoicing to develop EU standards for e-invoicing and a uniform legal interpretation in order to reduce the required amount of transmitted documents. BasWare and crossgate are active members of this expert committee.
“We are pleased that the CEN committee’s work in Brussels has also paid off in concrete agreements“, explains Oliver van der Linden, Vice President at crossgate. “The agreement isn’t just restricted to e-invoicing. Instead, it allows for complete electronic data exchange, from orders to dispatch notifications to credit notes and more,” adds Häkämies.
